When you’re able to add functionality you need at a price that’s affordable,
it’s a good thing. It’s even better when the solution also happens to be
significantly easier to implement and use than traditional choices. CompuData
has teamed up with True Commerce, Inc. to offer just such a solution for our
clients who require EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) capabilities.
Small and mid-size manufacturing and distribution companies are increasingly
being required to comply with EDI standards for transacting business
electronically with their large volume customers. By some accounts, EDI is
utilized for nearly 60% of all business-to-business transactions.* The most
common transactions sent and received via EDI are purchase orders, invoices and
advance shipping notices, but there are literally hundreds of transactions
covered by EDI. In fact, EDI can be used to facilitate almost any type of
transaction that is traditionally conducted using paper-based communication.
The key benefits driving this push towards electronic commerce are the
efficiency and accuracy gained by automating the transactional process. Instead
of manually re-keying a faxed purchase order for example, a manufacturer can
receive an order via EDI and import it directly into their accounting or
business system saving time and potential data entry errors.
Traditionally, becoming EDI enabled meant investing in expensive software
customization or settling for a non-integrated solution and accepting the
inefficiencies associated with manual data entry. TrueCommerce addresses this
issue by offering the only true end-to-end solution that includes all the
software, network services and technical support necessary to successfully
implement a fully integrated EDI system.
TrueCommerce exchanges over 6 million transactions annually via EDI on behalf of
clients using a variety of accounting systems including Sage MAS 90, MAS 200,
and MAS 500.
